Service Agreement

This Service Agreement governs all services performed by Speed House and is binding upon client approval of any estimate, invoice, or work order. By authorizing service or submitting payment, the Client agrees to the terms set forth below.
Purpose
This Agreement outlines the terms under which Speed House will perform service, maintenance, repairs, sourcing, and/or custom work on the Client’s vehicle, with an emphasis on the care, precision, and expertise that vehicles of distinction require.
Scope of Work
All services performed by Speed House will be authorized through an accepted estimate, work order, or invoice. Services outside the originally authorized scope will not be performed without documented client approval (written or verbal). Due to the nature of specialty vehicles, scopes may evolve as inspection or disassembly progresses. We will seek approval before proceeding with any significant additional work.
Estimates and Changes
Initial estimates are provided for client approval prior to the commencement of work. Speed House may proceed with minor adjustments to scope or pricing (e.g., updated part costs or incidental labor) up to a reasonable threshold. Any significant changes to the project scope or cost will be communicated to the Client for approval.
Payment Terms
Payment terms will be determined at the time of intake based on the scope of work. In some cases, a deposit may be required to begin service, and additional milestone payments may be scheduled as work progresses.
Final payment is expected at or before vehicle pickup, and no later than 7 days from the date of final invoice, unless alternative terms are agreed upon in writing.
Accepted payment methods include credit card, wire transfer, or check.
Invoices not paid within the specified terms will be subject to a late fee as outlined on the invoice (typically 1.5% per month or equivalent). Speed House reserves the right to suspend ongoing work or withhold vehicle release until payment is received in full.
Parts and Materials
Speed House will source original manufacturer parts, OEM-equivalent parts, or custom components based on service needs and client preference.
In rare cases where parts are no longer available, Speed House may recommend and procure high-quality reconditioned or custom alternatives, with Client approval.
Service Standards
All services will be performed in a professional, workmanlike manner consistent with Speed House’s commitment to excellence.
Services are conducted by trained technicians with expertise in the care of rare, vintage, and specialty vehicles.
Limited Warranty
Parts Warranty: New parts installed are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. Used, reconditioned, or custom parts carry no warranty unless expressly stated.
Labor Warranty: Due to the nature of vintage, rare, and modified vehicles, Speed House does not offer a formal labor warranty. However, if a concern arises that appears to be related to our workmanship, we welcome the opportunity to assess it in good faith and determine an appropriate resolution.
Warranty Exclusions:
Damage arising from misuse, racing, off-road use, or improper maintenance.
Pre-existing conditions unrelated to Speed House’s services.
Services declined or partially authorized by Client.
Client Responsibilities
Client is responsible for maintaining valid insurance on the vehicle during its time at Speed House.
Client must disclose all known issues, prior modifications, and relevant service history prior to work beginning.
Client agrees to provide responses within 3 wording days to Speed House communications regarding approvals or project changes.
Storage and Risk of Loss
While at Speed House, vehicles are stored in a secured, monitored facility.
Despite reasonable care, Client acknowledges that risk of loss, including fire, theft, or natural disaster or acts of God, remains and will be covered by the Client’s insurance policy.
Vehicles left beyond 7 calendar days after receiving invoice will be subject to a storage fee of $50/day.
If any amounts due remain unpaid for ten (10) days following notice of completion, Speed House reserves the right to assert a possessory lien against the vehicle in accordance with applicable North Carolina law.
This means that Speed House may retain possession of the vehicle until all amounts due, including storage and administrative fees, are paid in full.
Further, Speed House reserves the right to pursue lien enforcement remedies as provided under state law, including sale of the vehicle, following appropriate legal notice to the Client.
Liability Limitations
Speed House shall not be liable for incidental, consequential, or indirect damages related to services performed.
Total liability, if any, shall not exceed the total amount paid by Client for services under this Agreement.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall first be addressed via good-faith negotiation.
If resolution is not achieved, parties agree to mediation before filing suit.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
Marketing and Documentation
Speed House may photograph the Client’s vehicle for documentation, insurance, or marketing purposes unless Client expressly declines.
Photographs used in marketing will not include Client’s identifying information without consent.
Force Majeure
Speed House shall not be liable for delays or failures in performance caused by factors beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to supply chain disruptions, acts of God, labor disputes, or unforeseen technical complications.
Entire Agreement
This document constitutes the complete understanding between Speed House and the Client. No oral modifications shall be binding unless confirmed in writing and signed by both parties.
